How to Get from Florianópolis Airport to Trindade

Florianópolis – Hercílio Luz International Airport (FLN) is in the south of the island, in the Carianos neighborhood. Trindade is in the central part of the island, next to UFSC (Federal University of Santa Catarina). Without traffic, the drive from Florianópolis airport to Trindade takes about 20 minutes.
Here are your options for making the trip.
Uber and 99 (the easiest option)
Ride-hailing apps are the most popular way to leave the airport. There is a signposted app pickup point at the terminal.
- Time: about 20 minutes without traffic. At rush hour or in summer, it can take more than 40 minutes.
- Tip: check the exact pickup point in the app before leaving the arrivals hall.
Taxi
Taxis are available outside the terminal. The route is the same as with the apps. Confirm how you’ll pay before getting in.
Bus
This is the cheapest option but also the slowest, because you usually have to go to a bus terminal and change lines to get to TITRI (the Trindade bus terminal).
- Time: 1 to 1.5 hours, depending on connections.
- Tip: check up-to-date routes and schedules on Google Maps or Moovit before you set off. Schedules change on weekends and public holidays.
With large luggage, the bus usually isn’t worth it.
Rental car
Car rental desks are right at the airport. Renting a car makes sense if you plan to explore the north and south of the island.
- Routes: you’ll usually take the Via Expressa Sul or go through the Costeira and Pantanal area. GPS will show the best option based on traffic.
- Parking: in Trindade, street parking near UFSC can be hard to find on class days. Check whether your accommodation has a garage.
How much time to allow when heading back to the airport
For domestic flights, leave Trindade at least 2 hours before your flight. In high season (December to February) and in the late afternoon on weekdays, leave extra time, because traffic on the island can get bad quickly.
Arriving at Floripa Studio Trindade
Floripa Studio Trindade is in the Viva Trindade complex, next to UFSC and across from the University Hospital. When you request your ride, use the full address you receive in your booking confirmation.
- Self check-in from 3 pm, with a keypad code. No need to arrange an arrival time.
- Checkout by 11 am.
- Garage in the building, paid separately on site, if you’re driving.
- Supermarket on the ground floor, so you can stock up as soon as you arrive.
Arrived before check-in time? The food court and cafés at Viva Trindade are a good place to wait.
